Goodbye to Celebration Cakes
So, after posting this in my story a couple of weeks ago, I’ve had lots of questions and realised I should probably do some explaining and bare with, it could be a long one ☺️
Firstly, yes it’s true, I’m not taking new orders on for celebration cakes, by new orders I mostly mean from those who have never ordered before. (I will still be taking on wedding cake orders)
For those who’ve had multiple cakes in the past, where I might have made your children’s every birthday cake, I will have a soft spot for and will be taking on very minimal orders for people who have supported me over the years. These will be limited to just Friday or Saturday collections though.
For a while I’ve wanted to move to focus on my smaller bakes, brownies, cookies, and small bits that you’ll find with us at local events. I wanted to branch out to wholesale too and the perfect opportunity came up that meant I could get the ball rolling with this change.
I will also be having a little spot somewhere that you can pick up my bakes from every week in Wrexham, more about that soon!
The start of this year I made the decision to work smarter not harder, and although on paper celebration cakes might seem quite a lot of money, when you take your time in to it, not just the baking side but admin, ordering, everything in between, the hours spent trying to perfect them, chasing late payments, it’s just not worth it 😩.
For now as I’m changing things up, it’s been pretty hard setting new things up while still fitting in celebration cakes already booked in, and recently it’s been a lot of long hours which leads to me not being able to get back to messages for sometimes a fair few days and I promise you I’m trying my best, but in a few weeks it will all be worth it, and my work life with family life will just be improved no end 😮💨
For now, all celebration cakes already booked in are of course still going ahead as planned!
if you’re looking for another baker for a new order, I can recommend
@lakeside.bakes who is amazing 🩷.
As lovely as it’s been over the years (all 12 of them 😧), it’s not a sad goodbye as such, just a different direction 🫶🏻
