We’re honestly at a loss for words. Thank you to every single person who’s backed us since day one. This band started a long time ago, and the fact that you’re still here with us means everything.
Our last full release was in 2008. A lot has happened since then. Life moved fast, but the support never stopped. Whether you streamed a song, bought something from our merch store, or came out to a show, you played a part in this moment.
If you’re enjoying the record, our only ask is this, share it with a friend. That’s how this keeps growing.

Hard to believe it’s been three months since we released our new album “The Purpose of the Moon”!
Bands have to spend so much time these days competing for attention and time, “marketing”, and simply just trying to make sure people know their music exists, too much time frankly. There’s no team here, no label, no firm, no gurus, no managers, no one under 38 haha. Just 5 homies from Chula Vista and Escondido.
We’re just stoked yall are here, listening, sharing, coming to see us live, repping merch. All the love is felt.
We just wanted to shine some light on the last track of the album, “Aphasia”. The algorithm NEVER shows the last track any love, and we think it’s possibly the most important track in a good album sequence. For us, it puts a bow on the record, ties the whole thing together, reveals the future and evolution, and hopefully makes you run the whole thing back. We love yall, be good, we’ll see you soon!

We honestly can’t believe the love and support everyone has been showing since the @vanswarpedtour announcement. We’re incredibly grateful for it.
We’re beyond excited to be playing Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach in July. The last time we played Warped was in 2006, and it’s pretty surreal to be back 20 years later and see that you all still care enough to show up for us.

it’s been a long while... new record for @lowerdefinitionofficial just dropped, first since 2009 and the love’s been real 🎶 see you at warped, Long Beach
20 years ago we recorded a two song sampler demo with our brand new singer @mattgeise . Her Last Winter and Higher Than Kites. We had the homie @ptvjaime on recording/mixing/mastering duties and we got our dude @piercethevic to do some of his insane vocal layering and harmonies on HTK. @youngfuego whipped up some rad art on his bootleg copy of photoshop, and off to kinkos we went. We burnt as many copies as we could and handed them out to anyone who would take them. We kept recording as often as we could afford to, as many songs as we could. We encouraged people to burn copies and pirate the jams. One of those cds made its way to a record label we had admired for so many years and helped lead to us signing a deal to record The Greatest of All Lost Arts in 2008.
It’s now 2026, we’re gearing up to headline a show @somasd this June and in the past 4 years we’re release 16 new songs. Still handing out cds. Still recording with our friends. Still DIY-ing the hell out of everything. Still nervous. Still trying to sell tickets. Still trying to figure out if we should play The Weatherman last. Music rules, we appreciate all of you for ever giving us a shot.
