We welcome Heritage Craft basket weaver Alisha Davidson of @mortimerwillow who has recently moved into her new studio here at Lower Buckton. She will be opening her beautiful space on Saturday 9th May, on our Open Studio Day, for you to see her stunning willow baskets. She also runs workshops, which you can discuss as well as purchasing some wonderful goodies.
Lower Buckton Open Studio this coming Saturday 11th April. Our first open studio of the year, which is planned for every 2nd Saturday of the month. We have @marystephens7871 - @jude_piper_glass_art and @alicedrawstheline opening their doors along with Phil Davis wood turner. Sadly not all the residents of Lower Buckton Barns or @bramptonbryancollective can be open this time, but please come along and support makers and keep an eye open for the other studios that will be opening in the months to come and some extra guest artist who will be joining in.
Doors open from 10am till 3pm
Buckton and the local countryside looked beautiful over the last couple of days.

Thank you everyone who ventured out to @bramptonbryancollective and went the further mile and a half to the members and guests @lowerbucktonstudios . @lavendermoonaltar@niddrydesign for joining the studios as guest makers. It’s always a joy to open my studio for people to have an insight into what goes into making, what the life of a potter can look like. What goes into turning a passion into a career. The failed pots, trial and error, finding your voice as a maker, space with no heating, periods of time where making becomes to hard, because it’s to cold, pots freeze, or dry to fast in summer heat. All things that are not so present or obvious when you see a gathering of pots, that have a cohesive feel, sit well in your hand, cup and handle balance and feel right, comfortable to use, the lip of a cup, spout of jug of teapot that just feels right, just works without question. All things that take time, experimentation, exploration, sitting with, using to see what works and doesn’t. Observing what elements work. #porcelain #wheelthrown #wheelthrownporcelain #studiopotter #studiopottery
