My friend Brad Holyoke. I saw Brad play a battle of the bands when we were in high school and I was blown away with his talent and soul. He was like an adult in a childās body. My guitar playing must have seemed like a joke at the time. We became friends and fellow songwriters and learned the craft of music together. The songs we wrote together like Pleasure Menu and Sip, Sigh & Drag showed me how the whole could be so much more than the sum of its parts
But it was short lived. The band broke up and I moved to Los Angeles
I continued writing songs but to me they never had the magic of those early collaborations
In 2015 Brad and I did a couple Skypes and traded some ideas
Iām 2017 Matt and I began writing reams of music
We recorded two albums together
Brad was silent and Casey had long since given up on music
