When I stopped playing gigs, my chops got rusty. Turns out that was great for my pocket because I stopped playing frivolous fills and embellishments. My simpler drumming style now creates more space in the productions I record drums on, so it’s ultimately more musical and fits better with everything else happening in a song 💥
