A year gone into it. Twenty one pieces pulling themselves out of the dark, out of color and material and something unnamed that moves between the two. You don’t plan a thing like this — it metastasizes, it finds its own frequency the way the body knows something true before the mind catches up.
And for one week — one holy ordinary week — that space became something else entirely. People walked in carrying all their noise and somewhere between the door and the far wall it left them. Just left. The senses got quiet. The spirit remembered what it was before all the forgetting.
That’s the experiment. That’s always been the experiment — can beauty do what nothing else can? Can color and form and the honest labor of hands bring a human being back to themselves?
‘Meditations of Level’ says yes. Quietly, certainly, yes. This is just the beginning. And what a beginning to begin from.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and showed love. Gratitude runs deep for each of you.
To my tribe — the ones who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and helped build this thing from the ground up — this one’s for you. Every dream takes a team. And I’m blessed to have mine. Tribe for life.
Love you all, ❤️b
My practice is rooted in the philosophy of interbeing - the understanding that nothing exists in isolation, that we are each woven into one another, into the world, into the present moment. These works are an attempt to make that felt.
The process is meditative by nature. Each painting is built mark by mark, stitch by stitch - a repetitive, accumulative act that demands full presence. There is no shortcut. The hand must slow down. In that slowing, something opens.
The works ask the same of the viewer. In a world engineered for distraction, they offer the opposite: sustained colour, rhythmic pattern, and quiet geometry that rewards attention. They are not meant to be read quickly.
They are meant to be inhabited - a space to breathe, to settle, to reconnect with your senses and with each other.
This is an invitation to put down your phone. Feel the color. Notice the person beside you. This is what the work is for - not escape, but return. A return to the body, to the breath, to the radical simplicity of being alive, together, right now.

Experimentations using recycled building materials. Challenging but fruitful. The physicality of texture built layer after layer like cake kept me entranced thru the finish.
