Ok here it is, I’m going to say it, one of my most informative video series yet.
Here’s a little teaser for the first introductory video, that’s up on our YouTube channel, explaining exactly what our pre-construction service is.
The full video explains how our pre-construction service works, what you can expect from us, and why skipping this step often leads to unnecessary cost, delays, and stress.
I highly recommend watching this video and hope it helps shed some light on what I know can be a very confusing and overwhelming part of building a home.
Link will be in our bio. And can’t wait to share part two with you soon!
Here’s the full interview we did with our client Bill. When we asked if he wanted to do an interview for us he was absolutely stoked to do it. A great building experience equals happy clients, and happy clients means a happy life. That’s the saying right? 😅
Workshop has been busy.
From fabricating steel, building custom air con grills to building better systems on site and in the workshop.
Improving every single day.

A little sneak peek of our final shoot at our Pymble project.
Captured a few months after completion and already many hours spent enjoying this epic new backyard by our clients.
Will share more photos and a project overview up on our website soon.
The hardest lessons I’ve learned in business have come over the last two years. Big losses, difficult conversations, and plenty of pressure on everyone involved.
There’s no way I’ll make the same mistakes again.
Every day we’re trying to improve the experience for everyone involved - clients, architects, trades and our team. That’s the only way to stay sane.
A lot of what I share comes directly from mistakes I’ve made, but systems we’ve refined as a team, and lessons we’ve learned the hard way. If it helps another builder avoid going through the same challenges, then it’s worth sharing. Cause honestly this building gig is bloody hard.
Over the coming months I’ll be building out a resources page on our website with templates, systems and processes we’ve developed internally, so keep an eye out. There’s a lot more to come.
What a privilege to be part of the journey with @kamispacecc and see the community come together for their open day, celebrating all things art.
Stoked for our clients and looking forward to watching the business grow over the coming years.
This is the full video update that was shot out at Narara a few weeks back. We’ve shared a couple of snippets but thought we’d share the full video for anyone who’s interested (and who hasn’t seen it already on our YouTube channel).
I’ve tried to make it fairly informative by running through some things like how we detail our window openings, how we achieve an airtight and weathertight external membrane (which if you saw our results from the blower door test you know we did pretty well here), what’s the deal with HRV and thermal bridging, and how we frame up circular and oblong windows and archways (hint, it’s not done on site).
We’ll be back out at Narara with an internal fit out run through soon so stay tuned for that ✌🏾
We were recently featured on @build_index
We spoke about:
• Why problems in building rarely start on site
• The risk of pricing without full clarity
• How better pre-construction leads to better outcomes
Most issues come from decisions that weren’t made early enough.
When drawings are incomplete, selections aren’t finalised, or expectations aren’t aligned, it creates pressure later. That’s when budgets blow out and timelines stretch.
Pre-construction is where you remove that uncertainty and set the job up properly.

We hear a lot about the cost of building, and it’s pointed to labour and materials. That’s only part of the story.
Expectations have shifted.
Take a balustrade for example. Timber used to be the standard. It’s bulkier, more forgiving, and easier to work with.
Now clients want something tighter. Cleaner. More minimal.
Steel gives you that look, but it comes at a cost. There’s no room for error. Every line has to be exact, every junction thought through. What looks simple on paper is far more complex on site.
That’s the trade-off. Higher expectations mean more precision, more planning, and more time in execution.
The oldest of sayings couldn’t be more true, time is money.
This stair and balustrade is exactly that. Minimal, sharp, and dialled in but a lot going on behind the scenes to get it right. Time.
Big shout out to @interweldsteelfabrication to their great work.

We’re back out at @kamispacecc in Erina for the final walkthrough before handover.
This is the final stage of the build where everything comes together. Here’s a quick little cutdown of the full walkthrough that’s over on our YouTube channel (link in bio)
I can sum up this project up with a quote from the video “clients were happy, we were happy, happy days” 😃
If you’re watching this before Saturday 2 May and would like to come and check it out, check out the details for the open event over on the @kamispacecc page. We’d love to see you there.
Not sure how you capture 20 years of hard work in 49 seconds, but here’s 2 years building our shed and office.
Every spare minute. Every weekend. All while running the business.
No shortcuts, no overnight wins. We’ve poured everything into this, every dollar, every bit of energy. Financially we’re not winning right now, but I’d make the same call again without hesitation. It just the sacrifice you make.
Plenty still to do, but now I can step back for a second and focus on improving this business more and more.
Curves are everywhere right now. Windows, archways, you name it.
They look impressive on the finished job, but getting them right starts well before site. We’ve dialled in a system in the shed to build accurate templates, so when it comes time to frame, everything lines up clean and consistent.
This is a quick rundown of how we do it - well done to our fourth-year apprentice Chris, who we put on the spot to run through his working out.
