as i begin to reflect on this year being my 25th year writing and performing music, after just moving back to houston a few months ago, after 18 years away (with my first houston set finally on my calendar!), with 13 years of berlin in my rearview mirror, i'm processing levels of fear and gratitude and uncertainty and confidence that i truly never expected to feel. i started playing the alto saxophone (that i still have!) when i was 12, 13. i started all the rest at 18, 19, through @kvrxaustin and then through berlin and janus and solo albums, etc. i'ma keep it short! thank you all so much for this INCREDIBLE journey so far, and cheers to 25 more years 🥰 and don't forget to let me know if i could potentially help with your project : [email protected]

it's been such a beautiful 6 months back in houston! besides transitioning during a pandemic, i was going through quite a lot these past few years that increasingly made me simply want to be surrounded by more than a handful of people that looked and walked and talked like me. now, reunited with family for the first significant amount of time in nearly two decades, my spirit has finally settled in ways i didn't even realize were needed. i've already written over two hours of music, gotten very happily thique (again), and honestly i'm very ready to enter my quickly approaching 37th year of life with this much needed fresh start. many thanks to those that massively helped me out along the way and especially to those that finally got me home! i'm very much looking forward to continuing to explore and share warmth and creativity with communities on this side of the atlantic, so if you're interested in booking me for commissions or dj sets, please don't hesitate to dm or email me at [email protected]. love, lo-lo

it's black history month. get into it.

Producing intense, provocative music informed by ballroom culture, noise, R&B, and hip-hop, Lotic (J’Kerian Morgan) is one of the most notable figures associated with the loosely defined experimental club scene. The Houston-based artist rose to prominence after releasing a series of well-received mixtapes during the first half of the 2010s, including 2014’s Damsel in Distress. Following the 2015 EPs Heterocetera and Agitations and being invited by Björk to produce two official Vulnicura remixes in 2016, Lotic released her full-length debut, Power, in 2018, marking a shift toward vocal-based songwriting. Born in the Rio Grande Valley, Shy draws heavily from his border upbringing, where Latin rhythms are interwoven with cross-border club sounds. Through his party series “Hard Drive” and co-curation in collectives “Club Shugga” and “Kore,” Shy is carving out space for inclusion and community on queer southern dance floors. His work revolves around erotic techno with hypnotic club blends to create a seductive experience on the dance floor. Shy’s selections dive deep into the high BPM terrain of Latincore, Hardgroove, and Experimental Club to emulate an all-around sweaty, fast, and explosive experience.
