Even though every day is Land Rover day, I guess today is the official one.
So here is the one that started it all and the one that continues it.

One thing I miss from the past is roll cages. There is just something so satisfying about making the main hoop.
Now the actual roll protection is external on the flat bed side of things in the LR4 truck, but this should tie the structure of the cab back together nicely, you know after I cut half of it off.

Defender Trophy. Challenging, rewarding, stressful, but most of all, FUN. I still can’t wrap my head around even getting the opportunity to do this event.
My biggest take away from this weekend is the proof that the Land Rover/Off-Road/Outdoor Adventure communities are made up of truly great people. Every event I go to solidifies this fact and this was no different. 40 of us strangers were stuck together in a high stress environment, competing against each other and made to work together as a team. And you know what happened? We did. No one got mad at anyone, there was no yelling at someone if they messed up. It was just problem solving and working toward a shared goal. I can’t wait to see who gets to move on to the global final and I know that they will be deserving, although I do hope it’s the wave 1 guys.
***Also, any of you that followed along with my shop build knows that me getting on a high ropes course was a feat in itself.

And so it begins! Landed in Canada for the Defender Trophy Competition.
Camel Trophy was an event that can never be replicated in today’s world, but love that Land Rover is continuing the spirit with Defender Trophy and excited to see what it brings.

So my favorite Land Rover was a support vehicle for a competition up in British Columbia in 1996.
Now just a mere 30 years later I get the amazing opportunity to be in competition up there. I get to compete in the North American leg of the dang Defender Trophy.
Now I’m just not sure my orienteering skills are all that great, my current compass may need an upgrade.
