(SOLD) NYC Loft - A short post to track these amazingly cool and unique armchairs that got snapped up even before we listed them online for sale! This set of vintage curved armchairs originated and were manufactured in Minnesota, travelled with many different owners, and ended up in an NYC loft/studio before moving over to sunny Singapore! Their legs bear marks of their eventful journey / owners, who all fell in love with them and carried them along. Originally upholstered in a furry shade of mustard yellow, it took me forever to find a fabric that suited and matched the personality and shape of these chairs! (Believe it or not, chairs have personalities, and not all fabric designs match the bones / design of the chairs). These were left untouched for awhile, until I chanced upon a beautiful French fabric design that was perfect for the armchairs’ curves and hints of art deco design. In all honesty, I wasn’t quite prepared for these chairs to go when @lorgans told me that they sold them! They have now become “the chairs that got away”! Like a lost love! 😭 I only wish, that the new owners of these chairs love them as much as we did, reupholstering and working on them. And are as cool, funky, globetrotting and design savvy as these chairs’ previous owners all used to be! ♥️

1’s Better Than 2 (SOLD) - Here’s a quick post of one of the more unique chairs under @houseofeaves , that flew off @lorgans ‘s shelves even before the chairs were listed online for sale! Everybody loves a Kopitiam (coffeeshop) chair, that is so distinct in this part of Southeast Asia / Singapore. It brings forth smells of locally brewed coffee, shared kaya toasts and eggs, and the languid mornings and evenings shared with the company and chatter of friends. Sometimes though, one (chair) is better than two! 😂 This colourful entryway shoe bench is a cheeky and colourful addition to welcome guests to your home. It is also unique enough to stand within your home as a dining bench (with seat backs - hooray!) for entertaining. The chair has been newly reupholstered with Thevenon’s beautiful Josephine fabric. While this chair was sold off to a decisive buyer, we have two more chairs reupholstered in this arresting and colourful fabric! Place the armchair in a corner of a room to inject some colour in the living space. Its wide and comfortable seat pad also invites the addition of a pillow - turning it into a reading chair / nook. The see-through seat back allows this chair to be placed in the middle of a living room without cutting off visual continuity in a small contiguous space. Marvel at the armchair’s elegant back, arms and legs, with its gentle angles and achingly beautiful lines. The armchair’s back and arms have been lovingly restored by local woodworkers who have fixed its previously loose joints/joinery.
