Leinster Final – here we come!
The Loreto College U14 soccer players are heading for yet another Leinster Final, joining our camogie squad on the provincial stage after a remarkable semi‑final performance against Muckross Park College, Donnybrook, in the FAI Schools competition.
In a ten‑goal thriller, Loreto raced into an early two‑goal lead before the momentum shifted and Muckross edged ahead 4–3. Showing outstanding composure, resilience, and teamwork, the girls regrouped superbly and finished the contest in style, securing a 6–4 victory at the final whistle.
It was football played with heart, determination, and no shortage of skill — a performance fully deserving of a place in the final.
Congratulations to the entire squad and to coaching team of Aoibh, Katie, Ray and Ms Cosgrave on this fantastic achievement. A special mention goes to Emily, who scored four goals, and to Siomha and Rachel, who added one each — with Rachel’s superb strike created by an inventive Russo‑style back‑heel from Amelia. There were excellent performances throughout the pitch, particularly from centre backs Aoibhín and Éilis, Orla on the wing, and our overall Player of the Match, Siomha Leonard.
The girls were also thrilled to welcome former Loreto College student Jessica Hennessy of AFC Bournemouth Women’s team, who came along to support the team. Jessica generously took time to speak with the players and join them for photographs after the game. A sincere thank‑you from all at Loreto College — and warm congratulations to Jessica on her own successes this year.
Thanks also goes to 2nd Year Midlands Language School student Louise Madaule who plays club soccer in Paris for coming along to support the girls in the semi-final.
Loreto College now looks ahead to the final, where they will face Scoil Mhuire, Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny. Date, venue and time TBC.
Sincere thanks to the match official, the travelling team and their coaches, Mullingar Athletic FC, and Slevins Coaches for their support.
Well done to Lily Walsh who won the girls 3,000m today in Tullamore at the Leinster Schools T&F. This win has qualified Lily for both the Schools All-Ireland T&F where she'll represent Loreto College, and the Tailteann Games T&F where she'll race for Leinster. Fantastic result Lily, well done.
Well done to our students who participated so positively in the Youth Mass at the Cathedral on Saturday evening, 16th May. It is wonderful to see our Loreto students taking an active role in our parish and wider community.

Today we welcomed Brett Lemick creative video manager in Ryanair into our school. He shared his amazing career and experience with our Transition Years. Our students got a great insight into his career path so far and he also shared what he has learned from his experiences to date. A thoroughly enjoyable and insightful afternoon.
Jordan and Cian Adams are taking on the extraordinary challenge of running 32 marathons, one in every county in Ireland, to raise both awareness and vital funds for those affected by dementia.
The brothers are living with a diagnosis of Early-Onset Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), the same illness that claimed the life of their Irish mother at just 52 years of age after a six-year battle. In her memory, and in honour of 12 family members in Ireland who also lost their lives to FTD, Jordan and Cian have dedicated themselves to this inspiring journey.
The Westmeath leg of the challenge received tremendous support from the local community, with a fantastic turnout gathering in the town park to welcome and encourage the brothers as they continued their inspiring campaign.
We are proud to be part of such a meaningful occasion, with over 150 students present in the town park today to cheer everyone on. A special mention to Eva Jackson and Brownyn Wright (5th Year) who completed the final leg of the marathon along with our many past pupils on the day ❤️
Our Transition Years had a great day out today in Emerald Park on their end of year school trip. A fun filled day was had by all. Massive thank you to their Year Head and Form Teachers for organising a wonderful trip for them.
Well done to Holly, Aida , Zoe, Lucy, Amanda and Mia who represented us so well in the Young Environmentalist finals which were held in the RDS with their projects on foreign invasive species and rewetting bogs to revitalise the plant life growing there.
You may be able to catch their interviews on RTE's podcast the Dublin buzz.
