2025 was a blurry and devastating year, but I kept singing and laughing (well tried to) anyway. Last week, I took a leap of faith and launched a gofundme campaign to raise funds to help me recover from a health crisis and a long overdue immigration legal defense to avoid deportation. I’m trusting the universe will inspire my community to catch me from a seemingly endless freefall and help me get back on my feet.

It lifts my spirits and helps remind me of all the memorable moments I’ve had. In the past year, I made the commitment to pursue my music career fulltime and live a lifelong dream of becoming a singer-songwriter and with the help of some very talented musicians and engineer extraordinaire @danjelly I began recording my debut EP at @womensaudiomission 🤩
But 2025 had something else planned for me. Plot twist: I got inducted into the very exclusive “bipolar artist” club (membership: unfortunately common haha). Years of running on empty caught up with me and I unsurprisingly crashed physically, mentally, and spiritually. I experienced a health crisis that was exacerbated by stimulant meds I was taking for ADHD (oh! yeah, I have that too)
I spent months cycling, crashing, clawing, and clamoring for a nervous system that just wanted quiet rest. It took several months (and my body loudly insisting) before I admitted I wasn’t well and needed real treatment. After months of fighting Kaiser and insisting that I was indeed sick enough for outpatient treatment, I finally got the level of care I needed. I’m currently in treatment and recovering. And today I’m in good spirits!

I’ve been putting this off because asking for help makes me feel sick (lol)…but I finally found the energy and courage to hit post. So here’s the unromantic, ugly truth: I’m raising $20,000 to cover housing, basic living expenses, and a long overdue immigration legal defense while I undergo outpatient treatment to recover and build enough stability so my mom and I can continue living in this country.
2025 has been a hell of a year. My wish for 2026 is to recover and build sovereignty not only for myself, but for you, my family, my ancestors, and all my communities etched into my bones. I am treating this campaign as a collective embodiment, as a performance practice, and as living-cultural artifacts of mutual aid.
