My time in @jochipapanete during the Art medicine retreat by @uni_kaya_art was a game changer in my life. I have so much gratitude for the Shipibo family that received us with so much love and for each person I met in these journeys to the heart of the Amazon .
Visiting the Amazon and getting to spend time and ceremonies with the indigenous also changed the way I make art and tattoos. The visions I ve seen in the jungle brought me understanding about myself, my family , my ancestors, the place where I came from and gave me all inspirations to draw , paint and create tattoos .
Sometimes I feel completely out of place when I go to tattoo conventions with my art being this way and my intentions to what i wanna do with tattooing. I think I should be more tattooing or painting live on spiritual festivals to be honest . But a friend told me once, that this is the key, I should bring this message and this art to places that lacks this style the most, because many needs art as a healing tool .
It was beautiful to carry on on Becky’s project at the amazing @godsofinktattooconvention , was an honor to me to be there making what I love the most and the art that truly represents me . 🫶🏽🤎 big thanks to @mikivialetto for putting up such a great event , giving me the opportunity to bring a little piece of the jungle and this stories with me and @dirkboris for the great chats and being this year my neighbor at the convention 😂!🙏🏽✨

Some of my art inspired by Japan and “Ophelia” by John Everett Millais ✨ I love to mix my favorite painters to places I travel and live experiences . Can’t wait to go shopping for more paints , brushes and papers and paint again once i am back . But the hardest is to think about leaving Japan , a place I feel so lost in translation but so at Home . I LOVE being here and this year i will definitely return .
And back to the place who stole my heart ♥️ Inari shrines were the places I connected the most in Japan . The fierce powers of the Kitsune and what Inari represents for their people. I can feel the guardian foxes and the power of the faith that people bring to these shrines. And I think it’s beautiful and magical , as a spiritual person myself . I am glad and my heart is full to return to Japan , a land that i am so lost in translation but yet I feel home and in peace . It’s a weird feeling . But I love it !

As for me they symbolize freedom , the freedom related to break free of the need of validation and Approval , as an artist, as a human . My birds are reminder to break free of those things and trust yourself , follow your part with no fear of acceptance ! The convention I took less pictures and recorded less moments ever . It’s ment to be something , being more present and truly enjoying conversations and staying around of those who bring me true inspiration and great vibes.
