I got back to live stitching at @vantageslc last weekend!!
Popups are my favorite thing about chainstitch. I might still be new to the block, but getting to see and hang with this lil Salt Lake community is amazing!
Thanks to everyone that stopped by! And huge shout out to @sunwornvintage for pulling it all together and making it happen ๐งก

While Iโve been working with a lot of fun solid colors for my vests, I had an idea that hit me like a ton of bricksss. What if I created my own patterns or art on them?!?! & I knew exactly who to call!!! So stoked my friend @alliteee (@looseendsemb ) was down for the idea & to work together on a collaborative vest, it came out even better than I imagined!! My head is now exploding with more ideas we can to together & this is just the beginning.. i have so many talented friends that Iโm grateful to work with, I live for this kinda shit!!!
Thank you @alliteee for putting in work to make this happen & taking the time discussing ideas, colors & bugging you for the last week - get your rest cuz we have lots more work to do!!! ๐๐

I didnโt do much in 2022.
For me stitching is a passion project. And to be honest, a lot of other emotions can get in the way before I can sit down and make things Iโm proud of. Most of 2022 was just getting my feet back under me and learning how to enjoy myself in a new state, a thousand miles away from home.
I love Utah, but transitions arenโt easy (no matter how strong you are) and inevitably youโll change. Ive been lonely, broke and kind of lost, trying to understand exactly why I picked up my life and moved. Not to mention my chainstitch machine broke during the move ๐ซ . For some people, creativity comes out of turmoil, for me Iโve got to be settled and at peace.
Something really cool did come out of stitching last year, though. This super small collab (two pieces) I did with @sunwornvintage . Working with another creator (especially one you admire) is one of the best feelings. It makes me miss the makers community in Richmond, but Iโm finding it here now too. And now that Utah is feeling like home, Iโm getting the itch again to just sit down and sew.
Loose Ends is in Salt Lake City!
I moved from Richmond to Salt Lake about 6 months ago. Things were definitely silent for a while because, well, moving across the country is hard af. Now that the dust has settled, I can get back on my chainstitch machine.
The @uncommon.saltlake event was my first in this new town and Iโm beyond grateful to feel welcomed into the SLC vintage and maker community. Thanks to everyone who came out, stopped by and said hey, it was a blast!
