How we designed and made this custom velvet seating! From unused empty space to a WOW FACTOR velvet seat! I had this idea to create a custom seat for the empty space under the window in our kitchen /dining room. It felt too empty and lacked colour and warmth. Luckily Lee & Ryan @loose_button were on board to make my vision become a reality! These guys have some serious skills when it comes to artisan upholstery. I designed a custom stripe in my shimmer velvet fabric and really wanted a scallop effect on the seat back to add interest. Measure twice cut once, or in this case measure thrice, design twice and cut once 😅 *side note: if you have ever tried to match a stripe base to a scallop back you know the score 😆 Deciding to have the central stripe running up each back panel and the split the darker stripe over the two edges was the way to go! The final result? Pure luxury statement Velvet seating. From a nothing space to a highly designed custom velvet bench seat. A Sunday look back… This stunning kitchen was built by @diane_berry_kitchens who we worked alongside to create this bespoke corner seating area. Using CAD & CNC machines to design and create the shaped overhang and fixings. This meant it was consistent, strong but lightweight and easily adaptable for future projects.
