Case Sensitive paints lustrous shades of melancholia with fine strokes, decorating the songs with hope and disenchantment in equal measure. While exploring themes that stem from introspective ruminations, Koda and Nishad frame these personal and very subjective experiences within the context of a societal vantage point; one poisoned by indifference and cynicism. This conceptual duality is reflected in the sonic tapestry of the songs, in the deployment of overlapping shapes of harmonic consonance and dissonance, unexpected melodic contours, and space giving way to rich texture as well as in the lyrics that can seemingly break the proverbial 4th wall. Introducing “Muse” - OUT NOW ON YOUTUBE!!! (link in bio) a collaborative short film by @11koda11 and myself, delving into the intricacies of heart break, identity, longing, transformation, and personal redemption. In our narrative, the concept of the “Muse” unravels as she grapples with the notion of being solely defined by another’s inspiration, yearning to belong to an artist’s narrative. We confront pressures on women to fit into predefined roles, urging them to be someone else’s significant other, rather than embracing their own individuality. The visuals portray the dichotomy within womanhood, oscillating between allure and submission, contrasted with the depths of rage and resilience. Through cycles of reinvention, death and rebirth, the Muse emerges as an enigmatic force, embodying both sensitivity and strength, infusing depth and significance into her sense of self. This story is deeply personal, as it resonates with the universal quest for recognition and acceptance, transcending boundaries of gender, sexuality, or any other label. We are united in our desire to love and be seen, yet the ultimate journey lies in acknowledging and valuing our own worth. Shot at @getpraise space in Neuköln over two spontaneous days, and crafted over a year with much dedication and love for this project. .
