U. Dance Medway in Motion 2025 💃🏼
Another fantastic event this weekend celebrating the diversity of Medway! We welcomed a range of groups from all ages, backgrounds and cultures. It truly was a celebration, thank you to everyone who was involved 🫶🏻✨
We had 2.5 days to create a piece that had two versions! One with 8 dancers for a show this week and one with 10 for their exam… no easy feat! Mastering a maypole is a lot harder than it looks as if one person goes wrong for a split second we have a situation! We got better and better at finding ways out of the knots but hoping by Sunday they will have it. A challenge for myself & Kerry was that one of the students had a family emergency so I had to step in. I love being in it & a part of it but do have quite an injury to manage (spondylolisthesis). Time to rest (for one day at least!)
We are happy with what we achieved in the time & look forward to watching the shows! Massive well done to the students!!

On the 3rd we’ll be @stepneycityfarm hosting Street Dance the Maypole workshops for all, 4th at the amazing Sweeps Folk Festival in Rochester with a huge Ceilidh Jam @visitmedway@loopdanceco@medway_council_news & the 5th we will be in the middle of Camden High Street with @love.camden@wemakecamden performing excerpts from our flagship show ‘Step Hop House’ as well as hosting another huge Ceilidh Jam for all!!!
