Plant Science are a seven-piece (!) post-rock band who weave together tender folk balladry with momentous crescendoes and fiery collective improvisation. Born out of both the volcanic Glasgow jazz scene and its ever-changing and revered DIY scene, they have quickly been garnering support and praise across the city. If yr into bands like The Microphones, King Crimson, Black Country New Road and Big Thief, you’ll be into Plant Science.
Support on the night comes from the most-excellent Loon, an American duo now based in Glasgow who take inspiration from everything from baroque string quartets to chamber music to create a beguiling and unique fusion of alt-rock, folk and slow-core.
Both bands on this lineup will receive 100% of their ticket sales, so if you can, come down, see some good bands, have a class night and support independent music. Somebody’s got to, eh?
