ITS OUT!!!! I can’t believe my first EP is finally out there for all of you to hear 🥹 this ep I decided to really focus my music on mental health. I wrote all this music myself over the course of 6 months when I’ve felt probably the worst about myself in awhile. I’ve struggled with depression all my life and often feel alone; like no one gets it. The title “i’m fine.” comes from the response to the question “how are you?” Most of the time when we’re not ok, we just answer with “i’m fine” as a means to not have to talk about it. I wanted to create 6 songs that represent my feelings when I’m in a deep depression, and to show those that also feel like no one gets it, that there actually are a lot of people that do. The first song on the ep is actually not a song at all. it’s a voicemail from my dad that passed away almost two years ago on December 11th. in the voicemail he says he just got back from the hospital and feels fine. it’s a painful thing to hear knowing the outcome, but I felt it necessary to set the tone of the ep. The last song on the ep is not a song, but me going on a tangent about something I believe is very important. You’re going to have to have a listen to find out what I mean 🧡 It’s a little deep, but I thought ending the ep on a more positive and optimistic note was the right way to go. I still am very afraid to put my work out there because it’s a darker part of me that a lot of people don’t see. For so long I put off showing people what I love in fear of judgment. But I saw a movie recently that had a quote that stuck in my head. It said “courage is not the absence of fear, rather, courage is the judgment that something is more important than fear.” So with that I say if you are someone that is afraid of putting yourself out there, I say FUCK IT.
