stem is hard, i understand this! i’ve been in stem academies since middle school; but as someone who’s also passionate about writing and art, it’s very easy for me to break science down in a way that’s easy for both me and the general public to understand. you see it all the time, with channels like organic chem tutor and the amoeba sisters; but studying it to pursue a career makes you realize that many scientists have no intention of making their field accessible— not even just to the general public but even for students who are trying to pursue it as a career. exam averages being 60%, scientific papers being impossible to read, it’s really discouraging sometimes 😕 and it also encourages students to be more competitive, which discourages community!!!!
i’d love to hear others thoughts on this as well! do you feel similarly?
