For this year’s POW WOW group art exhibition, presented by URSA Gallery and curated by looketha, at the Colorblends House and Spring Garden my studio was broken up into four parts. Exhibition space, installation, working studio, and doodad shop. This is the last week to check out my studio and the entire group show including 136 pieces of artwork by 16 artists in person before we close for the year.

looketha is an artist born, living and creating in Bridgeport, CT. As a self-employed artist, she creates paintings in a surreal character style. Her characters come to life through improvisation. Repeated building up and breaking down of automatically executed lines and forms eventually produces a final image.

Come check out sculpture made of clay, wood, fabric, found objects, metal, plastic, paint, custom mediums, cardboard and more at the Colorblends House and Spring Garden’s Annual Art Show. This year’s title POW WOW evokes gathering, collective presence, and the energy created when artists and audiences come together in one space. It also carries an older resonance, tracing to the Algonquian-rooted phrase pau wau or pua wua, often interpreted as “he who dreams.” In this exhibition, those meanings converge: POW WOW becomes both a meeting place and a space of vision, shaped by imagination, conversation, and the communal force of art.
