Longwalkshortdock essentially began the first time Dave King heard gritty electronic music pouring out of early Nintendo cartridges. Hooked on those melodies, he started looping and recording sounds as a kid. Fast forward well over a decade, Dave is now a veteran of sound design and electronic music production, stepping into a genre of his own. Heavily influenced by early '80s video game music, metal and rock music, found-sound and vintage analog synthesis, he stacks layers of melody in his tracks until they implode and reform. Heavy drums and aggressive synths join forces with rolling grooves and melodic lead lines to create a wide variety of slamming dance floor originals. LWSD doesn’t just play tracks, he performs them, reshapes them, and commands the room while doing it.
LWSD's music crosses into many territories. His vast catalogue of hundreds of tracks dives into ambient, IDM, electro, acid, house, big beat, indie rock, drones, electronica and downtempo. Not limited to dance music nor limited to one lane, this is a producer who builds worlds through sound.
But this isn’t just production.
Longwalkshortdock performs live PA: vocals, synthesizers, drum machines, guitar, effects, toys, computers, even his own strobes and lighting. A staple on major festival stages including 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 and beyond, he is known for his incredibly enthusiastic performances, delivering a visceral, full-throttle stage presence that transforms a show into an experience.
He has shared stages with artists like MSTRKRFT, Opiuo, Junkie XL, Adam Freeland, The Orb, and Matt the Alien, continually evolving the LWSD experience, including immersive visual collaborations that turn venues into full light-cube transformations.
Desert Bloom is about artists who don’t just play music... they build worlds.
