1-5 : geraldine, 7x7x4, book board, book cloth, pva, distorted family images, dried flowers, mdf, chain, lino cut print, april 2025. codex as container in dedication to the matriarch of my dads side of the family who passed just in january. she was the strongest woman i knew and lived to be 94. this altar honors her strength, but also presents itself as a representation of how i will always have more questions for her, the knowing of that side of my history is tarnished and i mourn not only her loss, but this loss of knowledge.
6-10 : sacred roots, 6x18, synthetic and real hair, interviews, march 2025. a book bound by hair that dives into the intimacy of having curly hair and its relevance to black life, ancestry, and personal identity. thank you to those that were involved in this work <3.
