In three weeks, on 6JUN, we'll release NORMANDY French Summer Ale, brewed to commemorate the anniversary of the D-Day landings. For the third year in a row, both Longtab's owner Dave and head brewer Mike will be participating in a historic jump over Normandy, so keep an eye out for footage of the jump and the beer in Normandy. Normandy 81th Anniversary French Summer Ale is a smooth, rich and complex bière de garde with with pronounced maltiness and low bitterness, and notes marmalade, honeysuckle, and rye. We're particular about our glassware. Okay, we're particular about a lot of things, but glassware is right up there! Not only do we want our beers served in the correct style of glass, we want the glass to be "beer-clean." That means no visible dirt, and also no invisible grease or other residues that could affect the flavor, pour, appearance, head retention (and by extension aroma) of the beer. All of these factors contribute to the overall enjoyment of our favorite cold tasty beverage. Our brewers work hard to make the best beer they can, and we want you to have the best experience drinking it! How do you know if your glass is "beer-clean"? Watch out for dirty rims, poor head development and retention, and bubbles clinging to the side of the glass -- those are signs of a less-than-perfectly-clean glass. Instead, we're looking for good foam development, lacing along the side of the glass as we drink the beer, and no bubbles on the side of the glass. All our bartenders are Certified Beer Servers and do their best to make sure every pour meets our standards. Your beer deserves the best, and so do you! 10 days from now, on Memorial Day, Longtab will OPEN to honor those who have fallen. Memorial Day is for honoring U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Come join us this May 25th for a special ROLL CALL at around 4pm to recognize fallen service members. Patrons may call out and recognize a service member who died while serving.
