We are proud to present CHEN Kuang-jui, an emerging voice whose practice transforms personal emotion, nature, and societal change into tactile visual languages through installation, sculpture, and kinetic forms.
Featured works include Fallen Grief (2023–2025), a site-specific installation of rusted iron leaves suspended between weight and buoyancy, preserving the unpreservable stretch of time just before conclusion, and the Nascent Ravine Series (2026), black iron panels bearing sulfur-water textures that hold the quiet pause of first encounter and the gentle acknowledgment of impermanence.
We look forward to seeing you in Taipei.

Gao Huijun (1966-), known by his style name Heshang (literally “on the river”), was born in Baoding, Hebei Province. He graduated from the Central Institute of Arts and Crafts (now the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University) in 1992 and has made Songzhuang his artistic haven since 1994. He now resides in Los Angeles. His works have been exhibited globally in Singapore, Paris, and Taiwan. Gao’s art deftly intertwines the essence of traditional Chinese painting with modern contexts, sometimes incorporating Western painting media. Personified birds and otherworldly landscapes take center stage, demonstrating a profound connection to the legacy of ancient masters like Bada Shanren (1626–1705), Ni Zan (1301–1374), and Mi Fu (1051–1107). As a contemporary anchor, Gao’s inclusion highlights Longmen’s forward-looking ethos, bridging historical legacies with the dynamic energy of the present. His vibrant, innovative works will captivate viewers, emphasizing renewal in the exhibition’s narrative.
Lu Ming-Te (1950-) represents a bridge to contemporary art, known for his innovative paintings that combine traditional Chinese ink techniques with modern compositions. Born in Taipei, Lu studied at the National Taiwan University of Arts and has exhibited widely in Asia and beyond. His works, which often explore themes of memory and urban life, use bold colors and dynamic forms to reflect the complexities of modern Chinese identity. Held in private and institutional collections, including the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Lu’s art resonates with younger audiences, aligning with Longmen’s mission to foster new voices. His inclusion introduces a contemporary perspective, connecting the exhibition’s historical roots to the present.
Marking its 50th anniversary, Longmen proudly inaugurates its new Taipei Neihu space, Hyper Arte, under the thematic title Dragon Leaps into New Realms. The same theme extends to Longmen’s presentation at the 2025 Art Taipei International Art Fair, showcasing the artistic journeys of six artists, including Lu Ming-Te, and tracing the evolution from modernism to contemporary innovation. Since its founding as Taipei Lung Men Art Gallery in 1975, Longmen Art Projects has continuously fostered meaningful artistic dialogue across generations. The launch of Hyper Arte signifies a renewed commitment to building a platform that bridges tradition and the future, expanding the language of art through experimentation and exchange. This presentation stands as both a tribute to the pioneers who defined modern art in Taiwan and a declaration of a bold new chapter as Longmen strides confidently into its next era.

The Stravinsky Fountain: A Kinetic Dialogue Between Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely
Located beside the Centre Pompidou, this fountain—commissioned in 1983—brings together de Saint Phalle’s vibrant, playful sculptures with Tinguely’s mechanical, kinetic structures. At first glance, the contrast is striking: Saint Phalle’s color-saturated, voluptuous forms seem to dance freely across the shallow pool, while Tinguely’s dark, skeletal machines churn, rotate, and spray water with a kind of mischievous unpredictability. Yet together, they compose a symphony—a playful, physical homage to the composer Igor Stravinsky, whose works often merged structure with irreverence, order with the unexpected.
Saint Phalle, known for her “Nanas” and for exploding the canon of patriarchal art history, imbues her forms here with symbolic references to Stravinsky’s oeuvre—figures representing The Firebird, Petrushka, The Rite of Spring. They are joyful, almost primal expressions of life, fertility, and ritual. In contrast, Tinguely’s machines evoke the fragility of order, the inevitability of entropy, and the absurdity of mechanized modernity—central concerns of his wider body of work.
Together, their collaboration at the Stravinsky Fountain challenges the viewer to reconcile these dualities: play and seriousness, chaos and order, color and shadow, movement and stasis. Under the June sun, the water’s reflections heighten these tensions, turning the fountain into a living performance—a kinetic theater where art, music, and environment coalesce.
