A group of Long Island animal rescuers are hoping an injured Bald Eagle rescued from a busy roadway in Coram on Thursday will be back up in the sky in no time.
A witness saw the bird clipped by the sideview mirror of a truck and it was in distress on the median of Route 112.
Bystanders and police kept the bird contained so she would not go into traffic until Frankie Floridia of Strong Island Rescue arrived.
When Floridia arrived, the bird was standing with her wings out as though she wanted to fly away.

Former President Donald Trump should face $370 million in fines for unlawful conduct, as well as a lifetime ban from New Yorkâs real estate industry, argued Attorney General Letitia James in a new court filing.
The filing Friday in Trumpâs civil fraud case represents a significant escalation of penalties sought by James, who originally sought $250 million in fines.
The 103-page filing argues more evidence showed Trump, two of his adult children and his company executives benefited from illegal means.

Cheek swab samples taken from Asa Ellerup, the estranged wife of accused Gilgo Beach killer Rex Heuermann, match DNA found on bodies of the victims, a report by Newsday said.
Heuermann, of Massapequa Park, was indicted on three counts of first-degree murder charges and three counts of second-degree murder charges in the deaths of sex workers Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello, whose remains were found along Ocean Parkway in 2010.
