🏥 🎓 At MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center, a growing partnership with LBUSD is giving high school students opportunities to explore healthcare careers through a combination of job shadowing, mentorship, and hands-on simulation. One option available to students is a summer internship with MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center where they are assigned to a hospital department and can assist with daily operations. During the school year, students are able to participate in an after-school healthcare simulation program, where students take what they observe and begin to apply it in realistic scenarios.

➡️Canvas Services Restored Across LBUSD
As part of our phased approach, Canvas services have been fully restored across all LBUSD schools, providing access for students, teachers, families, and staff. Additionally, grading periods have been extended to ensure students and teachers have time to update their assignments and gradebooks.
Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, confirmed that the platform remains safe to use and that it has addressed the data exposure. LBUSD will continue to closely monitor system performance and the web for any unauthorized use of data.
We appreciate your patience and flexibility throughout this process. Protecting student and staff data remains a top priority, and we will provide updates if there are any additional developments related to this incident.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
