If you're a writer with a passion for Washington wine, this one's for you.
Long Shadows Vintners founder Allen Shoup dedicated his life to Washington wine - and to the people who shared its story with the world. Allen believed that great wine was only part of the story. The storytellers mattered just as much. That conviction lives on through the Allen Shoup Memorial Fellowship, an annual program honoring his legacy by elevating emerging writers and communicators who are passionate about Washington wine.
Applications for the 2026 Fellowship are open now through May 26. Recipients receive an immersive, all-expenses-paid experience across Washington wine country, including vineyard visits, introductions to key growers and vintners, wine samples, and a $3,000 stipend.

Some stories in wine don’t start in the vineyard, they start at home.
This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the women who shape not just who we are, but how we create. For Founding Winemaker Gilles Nicault, that story begins with his mom: her influence woven into every step of his journey, from his earliest inspirations to the wines we share with you today.
Join us in celebrating the mothers, mentors, and moments that make it all meaningful. Happy Mother's Day!
We're thrilled to announce our 2026 Honorary Vintner and Grower: Gilles Nicault and Luanne Holden-Boushey! 🍾
Honorary Vintner Gilles Nicault has spent more than three decades shaping Washington wines. Raised in southern France and trained at the University of Avignon, he brought old-world roots to the Pacific Northwest when he arrived in 1994 and has been defining the character of Columbia Valley wines ever since. As the founding winemaker at @long.shadows , his collaborative spirit and deep respect for Washington's terroir have earned him recognition on a world stage.
Honorary Grower Luanne Holden-Boushey is a true pioneer of Washington agriculture. She began farming in the Yakima Valley alongside her husband in Grandview, transitioning from apples and cherries to a vineyard operation with roots dating back to the late 1970s. Today, she farms 28 grape varieties - a testament to her adaptability, grit, and lifelong commitment to the land that makes Washington wine possible.
We're honored to celebrate both of them at this year's AWW events – tickets are available now at auctionofwawines.org/events (🔗 in bio) 🍷
We’re still riding the high! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Spring Release Weekend in Walla Walla, and to our incredible Key Club members for making it so special. An extra thank you to @campbelldavismusic and the @marcuswhitmanhotel catering team for helping elevate the experience.
We’re already looking forward to doing it all again!
There are certain moments in the wine calendar that feel like a turning point. The arrival of Julia's Dazzle Rosé is one of them.
The 2025 vintage is here. Crafted from 100% Pinot Gris by Founding Winemaker Gilles Nicault, it opens with bright aromatics of orange blossom and ripe strawberry, layered with melon and a crisp acidity that carries through to a clean, refreshing finish.
This is the bottle you keep on hand all year long. For impromptu gatherings, warm evenings, and those moments when only Rosé will do.
Available now online and in our tasting rooms. Link in bio.
Happy Birthday to our Founding Winemaker, Gilles Nicault. If you’ve met Gilles, you know his warmth is as memorable as his wines. We’re lucky to have his talent, his stories, and his spirit in every bottle. Cheers, Gilles!

LONG SHADOWS POET’S LEAP RIESLING
Poet’s Leap is one of my go-to Rieslings! It’s a burst of freshness in a glass. Think white flowers, zesty lime, and a hint of wet stone on the nose, instantly inviting and impossibly easy to sip.

The Epicurean Experience changes seasonally and is available exclusively in our Woodinville tasting room, Fridays - Sundays, by reservation only.
Some roots run too deep to go unacknowledged. Named for founder Allen Shoup's mother, Elizabeth Chester, and his grandmother, Maggie Kidder, Chester-Kidder was one of the first red wines ever made at Long Shadows, and that origin story is woven into every bottle. Founding Winemaker Gilles Nicault crafts this extraordinary New World blend as a tribute to the people who shaped the vision behind it.
Spring in Walla Walla is something you have to experience to understand. Last weekend, we were lucky enough to share it with the people who make this work meaningful: the guests, the familiar faces, and the first-timers who left feeling like regulars. Thank you for being part of it. The season is off to a beautiful start.
