Lone Pine is lucky enough to be home to two miniature donkeys, Humphrey and Mabel, who are adored by the entire team. Our days are always a little better when we spot them out enjoying their walks around the sanctuary.
Did you know? Donkeys are incredibly social animals and form strong bonds with their companions. They love company and can become lonely without a friend nearby, which is why Humphrey and Mabel make the perfect pair.

Wild Koala Day 🐨
Today we’re celebrating Australia’s wild koalas and why protecting them matters more than ever.
At Lone Pine, we’ve been caring for koalas since 1927, and our commitment to wild koalas goes beyond our gates. Through every koala experience at Lone Pine we donate $1 to @australianwildlifeconservancy , and together we’ve now raised over $195k (and counting!) to help protect wild koalas and their homes.
Here are a few simple ways to help:
🌿 Plant koala-friendly trees like eucalyptus or paperbark
🌿 Slow down in koala zones, especially dawn and dusk
🌿 Keep pets secure near bushland and at night
🌿 Avoid barbed wire and fruit netting
🌿 Report injured koalas: 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625)

There's something pretty special about watching a child's face light up when they meet one of our reptiles for the first time. 🥹
This Easter we joined the @queenslandchildrenshospital EGGstravaganza, bringing lizards, snakes and stick insects to brighten the day for patients and their loved ones. Kevin the Koala also joined us for a special guest appearance! 🐨
We visit QCH a few times a year to share a little piece of the wild up close, because sometimes the best medicine is an encounter with nature.
