Travel with me to LA for 48 hours to cast for an upcoming photoshoot! 🫶🏼 An extremely important part of finding the right fit for any launch/campaign (IMHO) is getting to know your models. Part of my process for casting entails in-person casting and talking through the model’s hair type, their hairstyle, and how they personally care for their hair. It makes the experience more personal for everyone involved and helps us represent real hair authentically. As a Creative Director, there are sooooo many (sometimes too many) variables that go into putting a photoshoot together and doing an in-person casting often times tells you a lot about how your photoshoot is going to turn out when you’re able to meet the model in person and see how they work on camera in real time. We sometimes interview 80+ models in one day! 😩 Personally, I can’t feel someone’s energy through a screen. Being in the room lets you see the confidence, personality, and the little moments that make someone right for the story you’re trying to tell. You start to see that little bit of magic unfold in real time! So while I’m actually a shell of a human right now lol, it makes this part of the job so worth it in the end. Idk is any of this interesting to you? Did you even make it to the end of this caption? Lol girl I am tired let me get off of here. ILY, MEAN IT!!! 💖
