The body itself is creation. It is constantly communicating and regenerating and evolving and speaks to us in metaphors and images and gestures that are so fascinating and curious and inspiring. Access to this can get cut off with overstimulation, stress and trauma. Somatic work is not just emotional processing and trying to get from a to b. It’s an endless deepening of relationship to the creative life force that is available when we slow down and listen to what is emerging. It is widening and surrendering and connecting to curiosity. It is just continually asking - what is here right now and how do I want to meet it. What is the next most interesting thing? If I allow my body to just do the thing it wants to do to protect me for a minute, then the valve can open again. It’s simple yet delicate work. For sensitives and creatives people it is essential! And I am very happy to provide a new ongoing online space for this work to happen :)) available as a monthly membership or weekly drop in. Link in bio or comment CREATE and I’ll send yoy the link

Amazed at the turn out for the @shesaid.so workshop today, nearly in the triple digits! and affirms to me how needed somatic work is for people in music, for so many reasons… Balancing your passion with your profession is not an easy task, but I believe somatics is essential to staying inspired and creative. Regulate to create starts next week, link in bio!

We’re excited to announce our next online session, Regulate to Create: Nervous System Literacy for Sustainable Creative Careers, taking place on 12 May at 10am PDT | 1pm EDT | 6pm BST | 7pm CEST. The fast-paced nature of the music industry often keeps us in a constant cycle of “hyperdrive-to-crash.” To help break that cycle, we are thrilled to invite somatic practitioner @lois______________________ Hayes for a dedicated workshop. In this session, we’ll find out about the physiological roots of burnout and how industry pressures shape our nervous system patterns and explore practical tools to help you manage your energy before high-stakes meetings, performances, or difficult conversations. “” shesaid.so members & ALLIES: Your RSVP link has been emailed and is available in the Community Hub. ** Non-members: We have a limited number of spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. You must be signed up to our newsletter to join. DM us your email to register.

SOMATIC TOOLS FOR TIMES OF CONFLICT 6pm Saturday 2 May at @_har_studio_ Available through USC This workshop explores the impact of repeated exposure to distressing digital content and offers practical tools for somatic resilience. While many have not directly lived through violence, what we see and absorb still shapes our internal state. The nervous system does not make clear distinctions. In this 90 minute session I will guide participants in recognising activation, working with the body’s responses and building capacity

NEW LOGO 🦋 I’ve been working on a new visual identity for my work and this is the new logo by my dear friend @_emilyvevans_ My approach to somatics sits in direct contrast to the highly polished brand affiliated wellness that likes to sell you the idea regulation means calm/curated/perfect on and offline. Somatic integration is messy, non linear and beautiful in its unique way for each person. Its purpose is to bring us into relationship with our own complexity so we can build the inner resources to hold all parts of ourselves, regardless of what the world reflects back to us.

Dissociation (or undercoupling dynamics) happens on a spectrum, from subtle disconnection to deeper fragmentation. It can be localised to one part of the body, or a global experience. It can look like feeling numb or not fully there, experiencing the world as unreal, or parts of your experience feeling split apart. In Somatic Experiencing we work by gently restoring connection supporting sensations, emotions and memories to come back into relationship at a pace the nervous system can handle. Photos from my incredible shoot with @stephanieelizabeththird that perfectly capture the experience of undercoupling!
