Highlander Mountain House is thrilled to welcome Artist Logan Ledger @loganledger on Thursday, March 26th as the next musical guest in our Highlander Salon Seriesš„
Native Californian Ledger came to music fairly early: he began singing as a young child and started playing old-time and bluegrass music on guitar at age 12. Enamored of early roots music recordings of Appalachian ballads and string bands from the 1930s, he soon discovered the music of Hank Williams and George Jones ā he describes it as āa bomb going off in my mindā ā and devoted himself wholeheartedly to learning all he could about country music.
Ledger eventually relocated to Nashville where he caught the eye of T Bone Burnett and released his critically acclaimed eponymous debut record on Rounder Records in 2020. Three years later, the Shooter-Jennings-produced record Golden State followed as a departure from his earlier country-noire soundscape. This time around, Ledger worked with musicians like Cage The Elephant guitarist Nick Bockrath, pedal-steel player Russ Pahl (Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers), Jenningsās longtime bassist Ted Russell Kamp and drummer Jamie Douglass, and Jennings himself (on piano, Wurlitzer, organ, and celeste), dreaming up a lush and spirited sound partly inspired by the California country-rock scene of the late-ā60s and early-ā70s. The end result is a sonic journey full of those ineffable qualities embodied by California: wild-eyed idealism, uneasy unpredictability, and the infinite promise of rebirth and renewal, all packed into a windswept 70s roadtrip from the high desert and mountains to the canyons and the California coast āØ
Come take a ride - donāt miss this magical night of story and song, by candlelight of course⨠Tickets at Link in Bioā”ļø
