Pictured: highlights from PGH March 2023. Reminder that this account is my diary. November 26 2024: My personal years-long unravelling continues. I am now with long strands of life, loosely held in bundles, ready to be woven. Life grips me with its sweaty hands, its flaming spear at my neck, as i lace my boots for another day. I think of a boy in the strip, I drink the lead in the water, I put on my favorite song. I picked signs and chose a story. I decided that I am practicing to drive the train through the snow, that my name will speak itself, orange ski mask and all. Poem songs forever, everything open source everything encrypted. I’m putting together an event at HQ it’s gona be called feather knife. Etc etc Thanks to my diary who is always there to catch my words. Thanks to the network that pierces the world. To the numbers that inscribe everything for us to touch. Thanks to the people who breathe life and for the helping hands. Thanks to my friends hearts and to every quivering step taken in any direction whatsoever. Thanks to the girl who brought me back from deep under, fiercest heart in hell. [rsvp link + downloadable pdf in bio] On May 8th, I'll be running a short Tech & Tarot session as part of "Untangle: A Day of Technology, Feelings, and Resistance" at @easternblocmtl with @triciaenns and the Techtechtech+ team, @omarieclaire , @schoukah and Chanel Robin. I've been working on this project for a few years and am very excited to reactivate it. I'm looking to expand and rewrite it soon, and hopefully publish it as a real book. :-) Lmk if you know of publishers you think would be a good fit! :P

Following this will be a workshop led by Techtechtech on their project To Weave a Web: the Poetics of Opting Out. On July 27th 2023 we hosted the final exhibition for our artist residency. Over two months of workshops, 10 Montreal-based artists created digital artworks which will soon be available to view on the new version of our site. Due to a funding gap, we were unable to share these until now. We are excited to share more news and recaps in the coming weeks! 📸 @samblakesam

En suivant le zine Tech & Tarot, les participant·e·s entameront une démarche abordant les défis émotionnels et pratiques de migration vers de nouveaux paysages technologiques. De 2020 à 2022, Ada X a soutenu Techtechtech, une équipe de recherche explorant les outils numériques éthiques comme alternatives aux géants de la tech. — On May 8th, as part of the HTMlles festival, Eastern Bloc hosts To Weave a Web: the Poetics of Opting Out, a workshop by Techtechtech (Liane Décary-Chen @log______off , Marie LeBlanc Flanagan @omarieclaire and Sarah Choukah @schoukah ), with guest collaborator Chanel Robin (UdM graduate, Lab-Delta member). Free admission, RSVP via link in bio. On the program: an exploration of the logistics and poetics of divesting from tech giants. Following the Tech & Tarot zine, participants will begin moving towards divestment through a journaling approach that addresses the emotional and practical challenges of migrating technological landscapes. From 2020 to 2022, Ada X supported Techtechtech, a research team exploring ethical digital tools as alternatives to Big Tech.
