After 7 incredible years, LoFi will close its doors following our final New Year’s Eve celebration. 🎉 Since 2018, this basement hideaway has been your late-night sanctuary- a place for dancing, cocktails, great music, and unforgettable nights in Ann Arbor. To all the guests, musicians, DJs, and staff who made LoFi what it was: thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the magic you brought to this space. But this isn’t goodbye… it’s a transformation. We’re closing temporarily for a complete renovation, emerging in mid-2026 with an exciting new concept that will bring even more theater, intimacy, and sophistication to this beloved space. Think vintage glamour meets modern cocktail culture; a destination bar experience unlike anything Ann Arbor has seen. Renovations are underway in the space, and while we’re not quite ready for the full reveal yet, here’s what we can share: We’ve partnered with Patrick Thompson Design to create an elevated cocktail lounge experience. A destination space with a refined ambiance, exciting cocktails, and handpicked tunes on an incredible sound system. YOUR QUESTIONS: 🎤 Live music & karaoke? Not regularly —we’re shifting to a more intimate lounge atmosphere focused on conversation, incredible cocktails, and curated music. To every artist who brought LoFi to life: we’re forever grateful. You made magic in that basement. 💃 Dancing? We’re designing the space to flex when the moment calls for it, but expect a more refined, seated lounge experience. 🐉 What about the dragons?! They’re safe! Currently in witness protection until we find them the perfect new home. 🎵 DJs? Absolutely. We’re doubling down on partnerships with Ann Arbor’s incredible DJ community—expect eclectic, unexpected, and always fresh. 🍸 The vibe? If Nightcap is your sophisticated first stop, this will be your seductive evening escape. Complementary concepts, distinct experiences, both unmistakably unique. 📅 Opening date? Mid-2026.
