Our 2026 show has two sustainability partners who are helping us improve From the Ground Up’s local impact. ❤️🌱🌎
We are excited to be partnering with ShareWares to make our 2026 trade show the first ever in Canada to implement 100% zero waste sampling! And for the fourth year in a row they are helping us reduce single-use plastics in our refreshments areas by using their reusables.
With the help of LOCO BC, we are measuring the show’s positive impact on the economy and communities of BC by collecting data on how much of our exhibitors’ ingredients, supplies, and services are locally sourced.

Support Your Community: Buy Local
Local businesses are vital to the fabric of our communities. They create vibrant commercial districts and provide jobs for your friends and neighbours. When a town loses its local businesses, it loses its heart ❤️ This BC Buy Local Week, and throughout the year, make a difference by supporting and advocating for your community—choose to buy local.
*This reel featured many of our partners who supported our campaign this year. Thank you to all of them!

Eat local this holiday season! 🍽️
We are fortunate to have incredible food grown right here in British Columbia, and the holidays are a perfect time to support the amazing farmers and producers who work hard to put food on our tables. Here are a few ways you can support local initiatives this season:
🛒 Browse for local products at your favourite BC retailer.
🎁 Give a friend a gift card to their favourite local restaurant.
🍷 Bring a bottle of BC wine to the party as a thoughtful host gift.
👩🍳 Feature local ingredients on your holiday table by planning recipes around what’s available locally.
Tag your favourite local restaurant, grocery store, or farmer in the comments and let’s spread the love like butter on artisanal sourdough toast!

🇨🇦 Let’s keep it Canadian this holiday season 🇨🇦
It’s been a tough year for Canadian businesses that have been under pressure due to US tariff threats, strikes and rising costs. Let’s do our part and keep it Canadian this holiday season and protect local jobs, support families and strengthen the local economy. Here’s how 👇
1️⃣ Buy Canadian: Keep an eye out for “Grown/Made in Canada” labels! When you buy local grown and made products, you’re helping to keep up to 92 cents of every dollar recirculating in our communities. Plus, if you shop from local businesses, your spending can have up to 7 TIMES the positive impact on our economy. Let’s choose Canadian-made items whenever we can!
2️⃣ Shop Local: Did you know that Canadians spend about $120 billion online each year, mostly with US retailers? Let’s change that! Opt for local owned businesses, visit stores in person, or try local click-and-collect options. Shopping local keeps even more of your spending in Canada—6 to 8 times more than with big multinationals and online giants! And local shops often carry more Canadian-made products!
3️⃣ Spread the Word: Share your favourite Canadian-made treasures with the hashtag #BuyCanadian! 📢 Give those amazing businesses a shout-out on social media, leave positive reviews, and help others discover them too.
Together, we can all be a part of building a stronger, more self-reliant Canada. Let’s choose local and support each other! 🍁

How are you planning to support local this holiday season? There are so many great options!
From grabbing tickets to the local hockey game and exploring a charming craft fair to supporting a local cause or shopping at nearby stores—either in-person or online—there are plenty of ways to give thoughtful local gifts. Before you head to a big-box store, why not check out what your community has to offer?
