The do always say “better late than never”, so here it goes. A little look back to an amazing weekend in Amsterdam last month to play for @slapfunkrecords at Bret. Amazing experience and so happy to be able to do my thing in such a venue and party. What a vibe. Lots of laughs, lots of vibes, a full heart 🫶

Locky Mazzucchelli has a knack for twisting familiar elements into unexpected shapes, and “Day 25” on Small World Compilation Vol. 2 shows just how deep his experiments run. The track opens in stripped-back territory: bleepy acid fragments orbit around one another, setting up a sense of both tension and playfulness. A raw, no-nonsense house bassline soon locks the groove into place, grounding the track’s restless swirl with body-moving intent.
But “Day 25” doesn’t stop there. About halfway through, a deep and dubby synth line creeps in, instantly shifting the mood and widening the scope. It’s a moment of transformation that recontextualizes everything before it - turning what could’ve been a lean acid-house workout into something layered, hypnotic, and emotionally resonant. Funky, raw, and subtly heady, it’s a track that straddles the line between peak-time propulsion and afterhour introspection, perfectly aligned with Small World’s ethos of global-minded yet floor-focused sounds.

Can’t wait for my Amsterdam debut this weekend for the @Slapfunk famlilia, inside everyone’s favourite red box, Bret. A secret line up of amazing artists all night and day, spending some of the final days of summer in the city of bikes 🚴♂️
After a very long mix hiatus and a pretty quiet summer, I had the idea to finally get back into it and put down something that expressed me as a DJ, music enthusiast and tell a story. With this in mind, I came up with the concept “From Dusk till Dawn”. This is where I would start the mix somewhere in the beauty of a late summer early evening, slowly moving through tempo and intensity to capture how I envision the energy of dusk until the early hours of the morning to be. Where dawn breaks, and you are locked into to a seriousness which can only be brought about through a proper trip, built up with thought and intent.
This was recorded live at home with two turntables, a CDJ, rotary, some average speakers and a lot of sweat. It is very raw but Im hoping the rawness will be relatable and resonate with some. I definitely left a piece of myself in this one.
