The government plans to deny Opera Zuid the support they need to keep their doors open, against the advice of the Council for Culture! Stop the destruction of culture outside the Randstad, maintain institutions that support young talent and hold the government to its promise.

Opera Zuid is expected to fulfill a growing range of responsibilities with a shrinking budget. The total budget for the opera sector is simply insufficient to meet these expectations.
Due to the unequal distribution of subsidies, regions outside the Randstad are not given equal support. This weakens regional culture rather than strengthening it.
The State Secretary claims to follow the advice of the Council for Culture, yet does the opposite.
This is an urgent appeal to all members of the House of Representatives: ⚠️SUPPORT THE MOHANDIS MOTION ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19⚠️ or the doors in Maastricht will close after this season, and a carefully built cultural network, developed over decades, will be lost.
