RI legislators are considering that, too, with S8195/S2833 sponsored by @bridgetvalverderi and @maryannshallcrosssmithforrep !

RI Opportunity for Employee Ownership Act
SB 2744
What this Act would do:
-educate on the option of employee-ownership
-give 30 day notice & opportunity for small business employees to purchase their workplace cooperatively
-provide a statewide list of technical assistance resources, including federal tax incentives
-maintain legacies and strengthen our local economy!
AND
RI Center for Employee Ownership SB2922 is also being heard! This would assist with business creation and transition to employee ownership.
