This summer I arbitrarily gave myself 100 days to make an EP from beginning to end. Today is that 100th day, and the project has evolved into a body of work far more intricate than my initial intentions.
Lula-Belle and I started concepts for the video a month ago, and every shoot day we had kept giving us more ideas for the next. The result of our relentless toil breathed new life into my music. I am so thankful for the effort and care Lula put into each video, and for the opportunity for us to collaborate again.
Thank you Dana for building a village that you knew would be incinerated with flammable elixirs.
Thank you Ryan for your impossible 3D scans of mirrored objects.
Thank you Niall for pushing this project even further over the line with your graphical wizardry in the final days of production.
Special thanks to Kel for your support through the past 3 months of constant work, and for donating your lovely candles.
Special thanks to Isobel for letting me torch your decorative antiques with outlawed chemicals.

Some images I used as the basis for the artwork for Kokanee Torch Sky / Castilleja. The first 2 pictures were taken at Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park in 2016. The third image is a park map from 1962 that I found online. I used the font and background colour from that for the artwork.
Kokanee Torch Sky / Castilleja is out now
These 2 songs are based on a vivid dream I had in 2021 where I was at Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park with my grandfather. This area is one of the most memorable places from my childhood, and my dream was the catalyst to make music honouring it.
Kokanee Torch Sky was finished in 2022. It was initially going to be part of a larger release later on, but it made more sense to share it in one package with its "sister" track.
Castilleja was made this year using a chord progression from 2018. It's named after the bright red flowers that cover the meadows at Kokanee in the summer months.
The artwork is based on a park map from 1962. I used pictures from the last time I was at Kokanee in 2016 for the mountain scene, and used a drawing of the Castilleja flower by Katie Poetsch in the top corner.
