the 2nd photo is me in 2019, so excited to have played @kingtutsofficial for the first time ever. i moved to Scotland in july 2017 and it was one of the venues i had read up on before arriving. it felt so far-fetched to have a show there back then, let alone a headliner.
we were supporting @gallusareaband that night in 2019, and since then we’ve played there quite a few times. as many of you know Lo Rays has gone through 4736384 iterations and i’ve had to restart many many times. im grateful i’ve had these opportunities to find my feet and meet @scottbathgatemusic@murray_plays_drums and jonesy to rebirth Lo Rays into its final form
always wondered if i’ll ever get a point where @loraysmusic could be headlining tut’s. welllll that time is in exactly 4 weeks, 28th of march. it’s gonna be our best show yet. it WILL sell out (manifesting 💅) so get your tickets NOW 💕
we are touring the UK in march:
MARCH 14 - LONDON
MARCH 16 - READING
MARCH 17 - NOTTINGHAM
MARCH 18 - MANCHESTER
MARCH 19 - NEWCASTLE
MARCH 28 - GLASGOW

Knee High is about being under the grip of something that pulls you down. You know you have to cut that connection, but you also find comfort in the misery. You start to identify with it until you’re not even sure who you are without it.
I actually wrote this from the perspective that the “you” in the song is my brain. It’s basically a conversation with it: “why are you tripping me up over the smallest of things? Overwhelming me over nothing?”. I wrote this when I had been so hard and so long trying to get better but fell back into bad mental health. It was frustrating, and I kept thinking “well maybe this is where I belong”. And it gives you weird comfort in a way, ‘cause that headspace is familiar.
The theme of our upcoming EP is becoming a new version of yourself, finding your voice, your identity. A rebirth. I see this song as the setback song in that story. The last fight before you finally let go of the things that used to own you and hold you down.
RE:BIRTH SEQUENCE out 28th March. You can pre-save it now on your preferred platform 💛
