This is Laura Zingle, one of my all time favorite people! Working with her is a total dream. This girl knows her stuff and as a union theatre artist I fully support her for this position. @lmzing

It’s official…I’m running for AEA National Council! I didn’t realize how much watching my dad participate in his union would end up influencing me. I heard about contract negotiations, I met other union leaders, I walked with him on picket lines. And I was so proud to join AEA in 2012. Over the past 7 years, I started joining Committees, and learned so much about how the union works behind the scenes. I joined the Member Education and Engagement Action Team, and started giving presentations to students in colleges and professional training programs on what the union is all about and how to join. I got to be on the negotiation team for the last LORT contract negotiations, which was amazing and eye-opening. And now, I’m running for a Council seat. I want to take this momentum and use my voice to help us keep moving forward. I’m running on the @wearestageleft slate - with a group of smart, passionate people who are all about progress and transparency - and making working conditions better for all members. Candidate statements go live in the portal AND ballots get mailed out April 22. Follow @wearestageleft to read about this 🔥 list of candidates. #placesforprogress #yourvoiceintheroom

March was a whirlwind…got to work some cool shows and events with awesome people, meet a couple sports stars (and a mascot), spend some time with family and friends, and enjoy the beginning of spring. (Sorry some folks got cut off of the landscape pics 😬) April’s not less busy…but I’m trying to take time to relax whenever possible.

Yesterday, I took the kids to the Hotel Del Coronado, where they have a beautiful display called Tinsel Trail to Oz, where you walk around and find all of the Wizard of Oz-themes trees and decorations. There’s a sign next to each with quotes from the books and the theme ornaments on the trees. There’s a yellow brick road, and two trees that are only accessible for guests in two of the dining rooms (though I got a photo of one through a window!). It was fun to walk around there, and even hang out on the beach for a bit!

The kiddos (and some of their friends) won awards at school and were given tickets to the UCSD basketball game…it was a fun night at my alma mater and a pretty good game!

Celebrating my 32nd show (and my 13th year!) with @sdgaymenschorus . My bio always says it’s one of my favorite jobs, and that’s true - each concert is full of hard-working singers, dancers, and operations and production folks who volunteer their time and talent in order to change lives one voice at a time. When they’re not singing onstage, they are out in the community, singing at schools and events all over the county…and they even appeared on the Jennifer Hudson Show! I am so proud to be part of the family, and call so many of them friends. 💖 congratulations on another season, and see you in the spring!

Last week marked the end of classes for the second semester I taught Stage Management Theory. It was a great semester, I had a wonderful group of students, and I continued to refine my lectures, activities and discussions and build on what I started last spring. Whether I continue to teach now or sometime in the future, I’m so proud of what I was able to do here, and grateful for all the folks who let me in and supported me along the way. ❤️🎭📚

Happy gotcha day (yesterday) to this goober, who’s added chaos and love and cuddles to our lives for one year now. We love you Jeff! 😸

It’s so hard to make friends as an adult. And then (best case scenario) sometimes you just meet someone because your kids are in the same class and you do PTO things and then you realize you just vibe. Yay for making good friends in adulthood, because you don’t realize how special that is until it happens! Thanks for being up for all the crazy ideas and here for the fun, and theme parties, and putting up with my crazy work schedule @raquel___marie ! 💕🍹👯‍♂️
