Took a trip to Waterperry Gardens for some inspiration ahead of exhibiting there for @celebratingceramics this July 10-12th. It’s an amazing setting and there will be both ceramics and silversmithing and jewellery exhibited during the show. #waterperrygardens #celebratingceramics #gardens

It is a pleasure to welcome Laura Murphy to ROSA Botanical Art Fair 🪷 Working primarily with parian clay, Laura creates highly translucent ceramics exploring themes of strength and fragility. Inspiration comes from botanical structures, movement in rural spaces, daylight, and a response to Seasonal Affective Disorder. She uses a combination of slip-casting and slip-forming to create a distinct effect. The subtle variations in each item are introduced as part of the making process, ensuring the finished piece is unique. Notable projects include her Pleasure-dome (Kubla Khan Series) Lignereux at Maison de l’Armateur, Le Havre, and her Hydrangea woodland sculpture trail at the Wittenham Clumps. A sneak peek at the Ivy leaf pieces I’ve been making ready for @hannahpescharsculpt Sculpture Garden’s upcoming annual opening on 3rd April. They’ve been hiding around the gardens @ayreshousestudios while I’ve been making more in my studio. Managed to capture them in the sunshine but they work just as well in the rain too! #ivyleaf #porcelain #sculpturegarden
