WE DID IT!!!! š
The 9th annual Lauraās Run 4 Kids benefiting the The Little Bit Foundation is officially in the books, and Iām still smiling thinking about Saturday. From the perfect weather to the energy in the air, from the incredible setting to ALL those amazing kidsāit truly was a great day in St. Louis and for St. Louis.
The best part? Meeting so many students at the starting line, ready to run with excitement and purpose.
We were lifted by the drumline from Madison High School, inspired by the Color Guard from Vashon High School and moved by a talented sophomore from Sumner High School who sang the National Anthem. Watching these kids full of confidence and excitement. Thatās whatās itās all about!
And then⦠the race! Preschool, elementary, middle and high school students all pounding the pavement togetherāsetting goals, pushing themselves and raising money for an organization that works every single day to break down barriers to learning. It doesnāt get more powerful than that.
While my name may be on the run, this event is truly a team effort. To our generous sponsors, our incredible volunteers, the dedicated Little Bit staff, and the many businesses who poured their time and energy into making this day happenāthank you, thank you, thank you!
And to all of YOUāthank you for showing up. It meant so much to see my KMOV family out on the course and to meet so many loyal First Alert 4 viewers. Your support means more than I can put into words.
Now⦠we start dreaming about the 10th annual Lauraās Run 4 Kids!
In the meantime, thank you for believing in our students. They are our futureāand if Saturday was any indication, St. Louisās future is incredibly bright. āØ

What an honor to emcee the 75th anniversary Shining Light Gala benefiting @stldgckids .
.
While I emphasize with many of the people charities benefit, I fully sympathize with the families who use DGCKidsā services. Itās an organization dedicated to helping kids with visual impairment.
.
As I said last night, I was there as the daughter of an optometrist. I was there as a woman who was fitted with her first pair of glasses at the age of 2. And most importantly, I was there as a mom of a beautiful little girl who was diagnosed with extreme farsightedness at just 12-months old.
.
Together, we helped to raise more than $400,000 for local kiddos trying to navigate a world they canāt see.
.
We are lucky to have the great visual aids that exist today. Personally, I know my daughter can now see my face thanks to her glasses. I wouldnāt be able to do my jobāor drive a carāwithout my contacts or glasses. But those situations are so minor compared to what other people are facing.
.
Once again, Iām humbled by the generosity of St. Louis.
.
Once again, Iām excited for our future thanks to these amazing nonprofits dedicated to helping kids.

Blessed. Hopeful. Grateful.
.
Blessed because we live in a community full people, businesses and organizations dedicated to helping other people in their greatest moment of need.
.
Hopeful because even though so much is happening in the world, thereās still so much good happening right here at home.
.
Grateful for the people at the @stlcrisisnursery who are taking care of babies and kids whose families are going through a crisis as we speak and those babies and kids are safe.
.
This weekend, 400 people came together to raise about $500,000 for the Crisis Nursery. The Razzle Dazzle Ball was dubbed the Ruby Celebration for the Nurseryās 40 years of helping families in St. Louis. We recognized some of the greatest leaders and supporters through the Legacy of Hope Award and I was humbled and honored to receive the Woman of the Year Award.
.
It truly takes a village to raise a child. The Crisis Nursery is part of that village for many families and, hopefully, it will remain being that village for generations to come.

Wishing all the working moms a very happy Working Moms Dayāespecially to the amazing moms that I get to work alongside every day.
.
I had no idea just how much moms doā¦until I became a mom.
.
Itās the best job in the world. And the hardest. And it never, ever stops.
.
But I wouldnāt change it for anything.
.
So, to all the other moms out there, just a reminder that YOU are amazing and you are doing the most important work in the world by raising your kids.

Show. Shred. Spent a few crazy days together!

Our 9th Valentineās Day together included Mark joining me on @mystllive , and our kids joining us for my 700th @shred415stl class!

The Heart Ball with my ā¤ļø.
.
What an honor to join @gdow14 for the @ahamissouri Heart Ball. Heart disease has greatly impacted both of our families, so the mission behind the American Heart Association is personal for us. Iām amazed at what Mark and his colleagues can do to help other families who have cardiovascular problems.
.
During this all important Heart Month, I hope you take a moment to find out your own familyās heart history and any risk factors you might have.

Quick little trip down south for some fun in the sun. āļø
.
Mark won this trip through a charity auction benefiting one of my favorite organizations: the @stlcrisisnursery .
.
I canāt tell you how many times I thought of the families using the Nurseryās services while we were away. I teared up multiple times with gratitude thinking of the Nursery employees and volunteers preparing for a snowstorm back in STLānot only for their own families, but for the families that had nowhere else to go in a crisis.
.
Iām really lucky to have found the man I need in all situations. And I pray my family can always pay it forward.
