Well...I'm terrible at posting anything outside of stories, but these photos have been waiting to be posted since these boys turned 4 & 1 SEVEN months ago πŸ™ƒπŸ€ͺ, so better late than never! Our birthday season came and went (in August). Jax turned 4 and Jayden is ONE 🀯!! How does time move so incredibly fast? The past year was a challenging but beautiful one. The first year of life is wild as is; then add a toddler to the mix and every day is a true test of your capacity, patience & grace. But I wouldn't have it any other way of course. The first year of Jayden's life flew right by! It's crazy how much faster it goes with the 2nd. Jayden tries to be so mature beyond his 12 months. He wants to be doing, watching, eating whatever everyone else is. He started walking before 10 months, then weaned himself from breastfeeding without my consent 😞. He LOVES to eat just about anything you put in front of him and out eats his big brother most days. It's incredible how quickly he's developing. His fine motor skills are impressive. He uses and understands a good bit of sign language 🀯 He understands a lot of language and can tell us yes or no, and his face is SO expressive. He even waves hello/goodbye and blows kisses 😘. He loves things that spin, deconstructing, knocking down, and taking items out of containers (especially the trash can πŸ˜–). He is curious and loves to explore his surroundings. He loves to move to music and rhythms he hears in the world and even seems like he's singing at times. He smiles a ton and has THE BEST giggles that will just melt your heart. He does not like to sit still, so cuddles are limited - but when you get them they are devine. He is one tough kid who gets a lot of rough play from his big brother, yet you can see the love and admiration he has for Jax. Watching their relationship develop is such a precious gift. I know this next year will fly by but I'm positive age 1-2 will be incredibly fun!

Mother's Day 2025 πŸ’• Perfect lazy, sunny day with my boys at the park! Started with blueberry pancakes - ended with grilling and enjoying our new patio furniture. Couldn't ask for a better Mother's Day πŸ₯° She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: β€œThere are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise. -Proverbs 31:25-31

4 weeks ago, our world expanded and love multiplied! Our beautiful baby boy made his debut in his own sweet time. Jayden Myles Short was born on August 22 at 3:23pm at a whopping 9 lbs 5 oz! We really thought he was going to share a birthday with Jaxon & me (August 21st), but he hung on so he could have his own special day. It was a long 30 hours of labor and didn't go as hoped, but once we held our beautiful baby boy, every hard moment and decision were worth it. I'm beyond blessed to have a husband who was right at my side encouraging and supporting me while literally running on fumes.  🩡🩡🩡 I'm extremely grateful for the guidance, support, and advocacy from my amazing doula @oriondoulacare . Not sure how things would've gone if she wasn't there. Even though things didn't go according to plan and I was an emotional mess, her knowledge and encouraging, calm spirit helped get us through.  🩡🩡🩡 Jayden, my sweet baby boy. I can't wait to watch you grow into the beautiful human God created you to be. You are so so loved already, especially by your big brother who can't seem to give you enough kisses. You are going to be one tough kid with Jax as your big brother, and I pray you 2 will be the best of friends! Welcome to the world sweet boy 🩡

This big boy turned 3 about 2 weeks ago!!! What a crazy, unforgettable birthday for us both. (Reminder: we share a birthday 😊) We woke up to awesome balloons & decorations and then headed to school with intentions of opening gifts later that night. After drop off & a quick grocery run, baby brother decided he was going to try to make his debut! Before we could get Jax from school, we had to head to the hospital. Jax had to spend a couple of days with family & wait to open his gifts. Although he's 3 and may not remember, I'm sure it was peculiar, confusing, and tough to be away from us for so many days, especially on his birthday. Baby brother held on until the next day to claim his own birthday, but Jaxon eventually got to meet him, and he immediately fell in love. Still can't give him enough kisses! It's been a transition full of many ups, downs, twists, and turns, but Jaxon continues to amaze me every day with his humor, silliness, imagination, language, knowledge, and caring heart. What a mix of emotions to watch your baby grow up! πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’š Jaxon's favorite colors are green & blue. He LOVES trains and building his train set. He's known his alphabet for some time, but now knows just about all his letter sounds. He knows his numbers & counting and occasionally surprises us with his addition skills. He knows some complex shapes (hexagon, octagon, rhombus, trapezoid) 🀯. He loves to sing, dance, run, jump, climb, flip, & play rough! He loves to help clean & cook & is a great baker! He loves his MANY stuffed animals & must sleep with a bed full every night, lol. He has a huge, kind, loving heart πŸ₯° πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’™ Jaxon, my sweet boy and birthday buddy, I can't believe how fast you're growing. The past year was full of so many sweet memories, and I'm so proud of the big boy you've become! Although sometimes it's a challenge, your newfound independence awes me. You are silly, adventurous, fearless, loving, curious, a good helper, zealous, and oh so boisterous! I'm sad to watch my baby disappear but so excited to watch you grow into this beautiful human (and big brother) God created you to be. Love, Mommy.

I'm in love with our maternity photos! So happy we squeezed a photo shoot in before baby arrived. I'll cherish these just as much as our first maternity shoot. I also never want to forget the 3 beautiful, adventurous, crazy years we had as a family of 3. I know some day it'll be a distant memory, but there were just so many spacial moments of just "Mommy, Daddy, Jaxon," as Jax would say. Here's to a healthy, growing family and many more memories to come!

Mondays are Mommy-Jaxon day! Making the most of and enjoying these fleeting days as a family of 3...and our special Mondays together before Jax starts 3K in the fall. What a perfect day at the playground, a yummy picnic, then met up with daddy for some ice cream! A little melt down on the way home, but a great day nonetheless! 😎🌞🍦

28 Weeks Pregnant and still moving....moving A LOT slower...but moving nonetheless! 2nd pregnancy has been VERY different and a lot harder in many ways. Thankful I have the maturity this time around to give myself grace, move when I can, and rest when I need to (which feels often these days). This was a quick and fun conditioning piece I did after some Incline Dumbbell Bench Press, Goblet Squats, and Knee Down Side Planks. 4 Rounds of :30 work, :30 Rest: Ball Slams Pregnant Burpees (elevated, no push up) Farmers Carry Followed by some breathing on all 4s & much needed stretching! Grateful for @cfsbk for the space and @pregnant.postpartum.athlete for the knowledge I've gained through becoming a Pregnant Postpartum Athleticism Coach! #pregnant #pregnatathlete #pregnancypostpartumathleticism #28weeks #fitmama #giveyourselfgrace #enjoymovement

STRENGTH: 3-4 Rounds of: 10 Front Rack or Goblet Squat to Box Step Up 10 per side Bench Supported DB Row 10+ Plank to Beast Walk CONDITIONING: 4 Rounds of: 10 Wall Balls 100' Overhead Med Ball Carry 10 Ball Slams 1:00 Heavy Med Ball Hold #pregnancypostpartumathleticism #pregnant #pregnatathlete #pregnantworkout #26weeks #crossfit #fitmama

Being a Mom is the best job I've ever had. I'm not perfect, but I'm doing my best every day to help this little human develop into the best version of who God created him to be. I'm beyond blessed and grateful for a partner who walks alongside me in this role and steps up on the days when i just don't have enough. We're elated as we patiently wait for our newest addition to arrive in August and another person to call me Mommy. Happy Mothers Day to all the Mamas out there. There are so many Moms and Mom figures I've had in my life that I try to mirror my parenting off of. I'm so humbled and in awe of their endless love, resilience, patience, acceptance, encouragement, strength, grit, grace, and poise.
