I’ve been working really hard on some promo work lately to send out for puzzle/games/activity/education work.
I’ve created a small portfolio folded leaflet that opens up to reveal a game to be played. Part fun, part educational but ALL PANDA 🐼! I’ve also designed and created a dice and counters. All folded flat so it can fit in an envelope. The leaflets should arrive from the printer this week ready to be posted out. Wish me luck🤞

A rough animatic from an Inkygoodness Bootcamp passion project module I did a couple of years ago using a character called Ninja Cat (how original 😅) that used to draw a lot until I found out it looks like an old 1987 Nintendo character called Ninji (that I’d never heard of).
Would love to draw this up properly in Procreate Dreams or CSP if I ever get a chance.

Look what has arrived!!! Thank you so much @samuelmilham and @greatgames.com.au for the help in bringing this idea into the real world as part of Vizzles series 13. It’s all looking so great. Can’t wait to complete it, solve the riddles, and find all of the objects (although I may be cheating as I know where everything is 😂).
Thank you to everyone who shared their dogs for me to draw in the puzzle, it was an absolute joy to include them.

I’ve finished my plant illustration. Limited myself to 6 colours (plus a darker green for the linework) but had a bit of fun with some gradients and textures. I’d possibly describe it as a psychedelic potting shed with a subtle vibe of 90s Shell Suits.

I’m in my next stage of my ‘small just for fun’ illustration which had now turned into a predictable big ‘ol thing. Here is the final linework.
If you look closely you can see the moment I almost lose my mind trying the draw the bird’s feet, give up, do something else and go back to it another time 🤯
Next step is colour, which is my least favourite part.

After deciding to change the orientation and redraw it I’m on the first clean-up ready for the finished linework.

I’ve been a busy bee working on a new isometric jigsaw puzzle design. Here’s a sneak peek and a quick process example of how I tackle a large job with LOTS of details 🧩✏️
✏️ I start with a sketch, basic ideas, and blocking out the general area I would like them to be on the puzzle.
📐 I make really basic isometric shapes such as boxes and cylinders in Illustrator, export as .svg files, and import the vectors into Clip Studio Paint.
🤔 I use these shapes to make the basic layout, use them and an isometric grid, and help me sketch things at the correct angles. I also use some auto actions I have created to convert flat shapes to the correct iso angles.
✍️ Then it’s draw, draw, draw again, adding more details.
🔁 More amending and shuffling/resizing of elements.
🐿️ I added the characters once I feel like I have everything in (almost) the correct places.
🎨 Block in base flat colours.
🖍️ Add shadow and highlights.
😵💫 Mess with the colours until it ends up looking the same as it did before you started tweaking them.
🖨️ Check it in CMYK proof profile and watch it take all of the fun out of the colour.
➡️ Send the hi-res file off to be prepped for print.
I mainly use Clip Studio now instead of Photoshop, mainly so I can work on both my Huion Kamvas 19 and iPad, but I have SO MANY LAYERS that once it gets near the end, I only work on my Huion as it makes my iPad sweat too much, and I like the bigger screen.

I'm working on creating a few children's educational STEM illustrations. This means I've spent more time than I should playing the BBC Bitesize KS3 Atomic Labs game online while trying to find some topics to draw.
Here is a stage of the 'Reacting Metals with Acid' experiment where you take the stopper out of the magnesium test tube and it makes a loud pop. This is from the bubbles of hydrogen gas that have been produced from the reaction. 🧪 The zinc is not so exciting, and the copper doesn't even try 😂
I do remember the chemistry lesson that made sulphur dioxide, causing the room to smell of egg, and the whole class ran out the door being dramatic. Did anyone else have the eggy lesson? 🥚
