Born in Siping, China, Liya began playing the piano at age four and currently studies at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Beyond music, she is deeply passionate about history and preserving it.

On stage with NCPAO: pianist Liya Wang @liyaaaa_wang , winner of the 2025 ARD International Music Competition, made her NCPAO debut in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 under the baton of Lin Daye.
Also on the program was Beethoven’s “Eroica” Symphony in Mahler’s arrangement, a controversial yet illuminating reworking of Beethoven’s landmark score.
In dieser ruhigen, lyrischen Passage aus Saint-Saëns’ 2. Klavierkonzert entfaltet Liya Wang (1. Preis & Publikumspreis, ARD-Wettbewerb 2025) eine berührende musikalische Erzählung.
