Join an orca livecoding workshop, no prior experience necessary! Two hours of workshop time followed by free play and feedback for those who want it. Orca, by Hundred Rabbits, is a two-dimensional visual programming language for generative midi sequencing.
Who is this for?
- Anyone!
- Artists and musicians interested in coding as play, to make experimental electronic music
- Livecoders who use other languages like Tidal/Strudel/SonicPi etc. and want to try orca
- Musicians who want to experiment with generative midi sequencing for improvisation, idea generation, composition, performance, with DAWs like Ableton, or soft synths, or hardware synths including modular
- Anyone interested in generating time-based events and control signals in midi, OSC, or UDP to connect with other environments like Max/MSP, Pure Data, TouchDesigner, etc.
What do you need to bring?
- Laptop (Windows or Mac) and headphones
- optionally, any software synth / app or hardware synth you want to sequence from orca
