Colin Blunstone, lead singer of the 60s British Invasion band The Zombies is one of the most captivating and talented singers I've ever heard, and definitely the greatest one I've ever met. In 2006 the Woggles toured with the Zombies as part of a Little Steven's Underground Garage A Go-go Tour and traveled around the country for several weeks sharing a tour bus with them, which allowed us all to become friends. Often I've heard that you shouldn't meet your heroes, but if there ever was an exception, this was it. To a man they were/are great fellows.
Having regained the rights to their music, last year saw the band remaster & reissue their seminal album "Odessey and Oracle" in Mono, and recently they have done the same with their 1965 debut album "Begin Here." Colin joined me for a Coolest Conversations about the album, the Begin Here Zombies Festival in the Fall, and his upcoming solo tour.

Last month I sailed on the Underground Garage Cruise and among the killer live acts were Low Cut Connie. They'll have a new album out on Friday, July 3 titled "Living In The USA." Called a danceable protest album, it features the recent Coolest Song In The World, OH YEAH. The band's piano playing front man, Adam Weiner, joined me for a Coolest Conversation to tell us all about the single and album.
