Presenting, in no particular order, my manuscript wishlist for 2026 ✨
Whether it’s speculative fiction in any form (sci-fi, fantasy, horror, romantasy) or grounded more firmly in our world (contemporary fiction, romance, thrillers), I want books that make me FEEL. Feet-kicking, heart-pounding, jaw-dropping, tear-jerking — whatever the feeling is, I want it big.
While I’ve highlighted a few of my favourite elements in each space, I’m interested in stories that have even one (1) of them, and this list is by no means exhaustive. If you think we’d be a good fit, please send it my way!
For query information, head to the submission guidelines on P.S. Literary’s website (and don’t forget your sample material!).
I’m eternally grateful to the writers who give me the chance to consider their work, and I can’t wait to make some more beautiful books together 📚💖
You loved seeing my manuscript wishlist as video games — or so analytics tell me — so here’s another (slightly sillier) version: my MSWL as unhinged playlists!
I love a playlist with a strong aesthetic, and I often make my own to listen to while editing client books, so it only felt right that this was the next format for my MSWL.
I can’t consider individual pitches in the comments, but feel free to drop any questions (or your wild playlist recs!) below ⬇️
Are you watching REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES this weekend? Nothing brings me to life more than a new book-to-film adaptation, and I can’t wait to dig in!
Thoughts? Other adaptations you’re excited for? (I see you, OFF CAMPUS girlies! Your time is nigh!)
It might be hard to believe, but sometimes queries make me cry!
It doesn’t happen often, but every full manuscript I’ve requested came from a query that elicited some form of emotional response — tears, laughter, swooning, shock, empathy, fear — that made me want to feel that way again.
I can’t accept pitches or advise on specific situations in the comments, but feel free to drop any questions below. . . ⬇️

Rounding up some recent reads! 📚
Grounded or speculative, commercial or literary, pure genre or genre-blending. . . I just love a good story.
Next on my stack is some topical non-fiction, a classic from the 1960s, and an exciting advance copy from an editor friend 👀

Saige Chambers, Arcane Bioengineering student and blood witch, is constantly anxious and chronically over-prepared. When Saige and her fellow witch doctoral candidates depart for a conference, she plans and anticipates every last detail. Except — she’s not prepared for the moment their bus turns off the highway and takes them to a remote mansion in the Appalachian Mountains, the gates sealing shut behind them.
The mansion’s owner, Arius Medea, issues a simple mandate: fix his injured, rotting leg or die. But it’s no ordinary injury — the flesh melts off the bone, emitting waves of foul magic that set Saige’s blood alight. Saige’s colleagues want to fight back and escape. Saige thinks their best chance is to fix him fast and get out. As tensions rise, Saige finds herself growing closer to Vaishnavi Sri, a poison witch and Saige’s long-term crush. But first impressions can be misleading, and as Saige’s reluctant attraction to Arius grows, she begins to wonder if there’s a better life waiting for her in the walls of this mansion.
But, as one by one, Saige’s colleagues start to disappear, Saige realizes that dying may not be the worst option — because there are far worse fates lurking in the woods.
An amazing day at the Toronto Writing Workshop with some of my wonderful PSLA colleagues! 📚 Thank you to everyone who pitched me and made the sessions fly by so quickly!
It was love at first bite with this gorgeous cover for @lenorawoodswrites next D&D romance book, LEVEL UP FOR LOVE, coming this September!
Have you ever run into the college rival you hooked up with once before he ghosted you, and then six years later you join an advanced D&D campaign only to find that he’s the ruthless vampire lord at the helm?
I’ve been kicking my feet over Wesley and Reagan for months now, and I can’t wait for the rest of you to join in the fun!
Pre-order now and kick your spooky season off with a bang (🤭)
🎮🦇🩸⚔️
Forced together for a new D&D campaign, sparks fly as two former college rivals clash—both in and out of the game—in this blend of contemporary second-chance romance and fantasy from the author of Roll for Romance.
In college, Reagan Riley and Wesley Locke were constantly at each other’s throats, competing to be the best in their video game design program, until their unexpected hookup and Wesley’s sudden disappearance following it severed their ties for good.
Six years later, Reagan has set aside her game design dreams, opting instead to stay close to her family in Connecticut and channeling her creative energy into D&D. When her longstanding group falls apart, she and her sister join their local game store’s new, advanced campaign—only to find the demanding Dungeon Master at the helm is none other than Wesley. In the game, he is Vadrien, a merciless, power-hungry vampire lord, and Reagan is Sindra, the sword-wielding lady knight who will stop at nothing to cut him down.
When a game design opportunity opens up in the real world, Reagan and Wesley find themselves doubly pitted against each other. But as their buried spark reignites and Reagan starts to question why Wesley left all those years ago, can they find a way to play nice—and are they playing for more than just to win?
The big event may be ending, but I have been and will always be a sports gal🏅
I love baseball, soccer, hockey, figure skating, tennis — the list goes on — but there’s a wide world of sports I haven’t seen explored yet 👀
While I think these would be so fun in romance, I also love upmarket sports fiction that explores what it means to be an athlete (or a fan) and the factors that complicate that relationship.
What sports do you want to see in fiction or sports romance? (Please, give me more wild ideas!) ⬇️
I was about twelve years old when I wandered into my aunt’s room, bored out of my mind because I’d finished the only book I had with me, wondering if I could find anything on her shelf. It was mostly dental textbooks, but tucked behind those, I found two novels: Dan Brown’s ANGELS & DEMONS and Sophie Kinsella’s CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET?
I’ve told this story a few times in my publishing career, because I can’t imagine the version of little me that chose Angels & Demons. But the pink cover called to me, and I picked up Can You Keep a Secret? having no idea what I was getting into – and quickly realized that whatever it was, I was all in.
I still remember being scandalized as I tore through the pages, hiding it at the bottom of my closet so no one would yank it from my hands upon realizing I had it. It was smart, and funny, and sexy, and so boldly unafraid to be exactly what it was. I read it twice over, desperate to commit it to memory before I returned it to its rightful home.
I will never forget that moment, of learning exactly what a romance novel could do and be, and the realization that I had a whole world of them ahead of me. I came back to Sophie’s books a number of times as I grew up, moved to London, and eventually got a job in publishing, where I get to chat about romance constantly and call it work.
Rest in peace, Sophie. May we all live life as bravely and resiliently as the heroines she wrote, and my warmest condolences to all who knew and loved her.
