this Saturday May.16th, live jazz show at Rooms Coffee | Listen is returning with 𝘼𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣 (@shuvanjankarmaker@dilshan.s.w@awe_labs ) playing some improvised Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop & Afro-Funk music, joining by renowned local Hip-hop artists @yohvnblvck & @blackrxxk
𝘼𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣 consists of Josh Awe on drums, Shuvanjan Karmaker on bass (& samples) and Dilshan Weerasinghe on guitar. The ensemble explores improvisation based around groove, with particular attention to the sonic aesthetics of hip-hop in tandem with elements of African and South Asian diasporic music.
An unbound dialogue of groove and tone, seeking truth through a continuous improvisation where pulse, texture, and intuition converge into living sound.
